Coins and Banknotes

The issue of banknotes and coins is one of the core functions of the National Bank of Serbia. The National Bank of Serbia maintains the exclusive right to issue banknotes and coins in the Republic of Serbia.

The National Bank of Serbia issues banknotes and coinage, determines denominations and main features of banknotes and coins, and adopts decisions on the placing and withdrawing from circulation banknotes and coins.

Banknotes are coins are manufactured in the specialized organizational unit of the National Bank of Serbia – the Institute for Manufacturing Banknotes and Coins – Topčider.
