BEMUS Concerts in the Hall of the NBS Slavija BuildingThis year’s edition of BEMUS, the largest art music festival in Serbia, began on 16 October with a concert at the Yugoslav Drama Theatre. BEMUS concerts will also be performed in the hall of the National Bank of Serbia’s Slavija building which has so far hosted three concerts: “Good Tune Travels Far“ by the Mokranjac School of Music, Flauto Dolce by the early music ensemble, and a concert of Schumann, Beethoven and Brahms music by the Sine Nomine Quartet. Two more concerts will be held at the NBS: on Friday, 22 October, compositions of Vučković, Haas, Schulhoff and Ullman will be performed to mark the centenary of birth of composer Vojislav Vučković, while small jazz bands and percussionists will hold a session on Sunday, 24 October at 12 noon. Entrance is free to all concerts in the NBS hall. BEMUS concerts are also held at the Kolarac Foudation, at the City Hall and
the National Theatre. BEMUS closes on 24 October with a concert by the New York
Philharmonic in the Sava Centre. |
