NBS Hosts Fourth Moneture Tournament
On 21 December the NBS hosted the fourth tournament in the educational board game Moneture. The main award – summer internship at the central bank – was handed out by vice-governor Željko Jović.
Students who won the summer internship are the first-ranked Rastko Jovović, student of the Faculty of Economics in Subotica, the second-ranked Dijana Marković and the third-ranked Luka Ilić, students of the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade.
This year’s tournament gathered nine faculties. Eligible participants were final year students with the grade point average of minimum 8.00. Apart from faculties that regularly take part in the tournament, the State University of Novi Pazar also joined the competition this year, as a valuable addition to the NBS’s cooperation with faculties aimed at enhancing practical knowledge in the field of economics and finance.
In line with the NBS’s Strategy in the area of financial education, in the last five years the NBS organised more than 120 tournaments at secondary schools and faculties of economics in Belgrade and across Serbia.
The “Moneture” is an educational board game representing the operation of the NBS. The player is faced with real-life situations in which our monetary system can find itself and tries to influence them by appropriate measures that the NBS has in store. By applying the appropriate measures the player wins or loses points and keeps inflation within the desirable band. The points won in the game reflect the main measures of success: inflation rate, the dinar value and citizens’ confidence.
