Mr Ewald Nowotny, Governor of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB) and a Member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank, is on his first, one-day visit to the National Bank of Serbia at the invitation of NBS Governor Dejan Šoškić.

Governors Nowotny and Šoškić discussed current economic developments and the impact of the financial crisis on the economies and macroeconomic stability of the two countries.

Governor Nowotny gave a presentation to the NBS management, members of staff and broader professional community, titled “Issues and Challenges regarding the Euro Area and EU Economies”.

The OeNB and NBS have thus far successfully cooperated within the programme of central banking technical assistance and will continue to do so in the future.
