NBS Puts in Circulation 1, 2 and 5 Dinar Coins and 200 Dinar Banknote with Slightly Altered Features
The NBS has released today 1, 2 and 5 dinar coins and a 200 dinar banknote with slightly altered features.
The obverse of 1, 2 and 5 dinar coins shows a new issue year (2013). The obverse of the 200 dinar banknote remains unchanged, while the reverse shows a new issue year (2013) and the signature of the current governor (Jorgovanka Tabaković). The 1 dinar coin will circulate in parallel with the earlier series from 2003, 2005, 2009 and 2011, the 2 dinar coin with the series from 2003, 2006, 2009 and 2011, and the 5 dinar coin with those from 2003, 2005 and 2011.
The 200 dinar banknote will circulate in parallel with the earlier series from 2005 and 2011.
Production of additional volumes of 1, 2 and 5 dinar coins and the 200 dinar banknote with slightly altered features is part of the annual programme of coin and banknote production. The programme establishes additional amounts of coins and banknotes of these denominations to be produced in order to meet the usual annual demand for cash payments, replace coins and banknotes withdrawn from circulation as unfit or destroyed and keep on reserve in the NBS Treasury vaults.
