Education for secondary school children within Global Compact activities
As chair of the Working Group for Corporate Social Responsibility in Banking and Finance, together with other members of the Group, the NBS worked on the development and implementation of two projects in the field of financial education. Within a project of cooperation with vocational secondary schools with courses in Banking, the third and fourth year students were given a chance to enter into a one-week/two-week internship in banks (members of the Group), visit the National Bank of Serbia and the Institute for Manufacturing Banknotes and Coins – TopĨider, and attend lectures for students and their teachers. The project also included participation of member bank representatives on the matriculation examination panels. To make this type of cooperation official, a protocol was signed between the Association of Principals of Secondary Economic Schools and the Serbian Global Compact, which will continue to be operative in 2011.
