Based on NBS approval, on 12 August 2022, API Bank a.d. Beograd joined the NBS International and Interbank Clearing of FX Payments, thus enabling its clients а faster and cheaper execution of FX payments in respect of participants in the said clearing systems. The NBS is the operator of the International and Interbank Clearing of FX Payments (more information on NBS IIC systems), which enables users to make FX payments for their clients – households and businesses – on the same day when the transaction is initiated, at minimum cost.
Currently, in addition to the NBS, 13 banks with their head offices in the Republic of Serbia and six banks from the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, based on the Agreement on the Clearing of Interbank and International Payments concluded between the NBS and the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, participate in the International and Interbank Clearing of FX Payments (list of participants in NBS IIC systems).
