In accordance with the NBS’s prior consent, Agroindustrijsko кomercijalna banka “AIK BANKA“ a.d. Beograd has become today the sole owner of Eurobank Direktna a.d. Beograd. Eurobank Direktna a.d. Beograd is now a member of the domestic banking group. The joint share of both banks in the Serbian banking market will be more than 13%. The change in ownership will be registered with the Central Securities Depository and Clearing House.
The change of ownership does not imply any change in the status of clients of Eurobank Direktna, which, for the time being, continues to operate under the same business name. The contracts concluded between this bank and its clients remain in force, with clients retaining all contractual rights and obligations. By giving its prior consent to this transaction, the NBS shows its commitment to supporting all activities that help maintain and strengthen banking sector stability.
This transaction is yet another confirmation that the NBS has established an adequate framework for banks’ operations, business expansion of the local banking market players, and inflow of new investment.
