NBS warns citizens not to borrow from companies engaging in unauthorised lending

The NBS has obtained information that Dinexu, a company with registered office at the address Kirchgasse 35-43, Wiesbaden, Hesse, Germany, has engaged in unauthorised lending in the territory of the Republic of Serbia, electronically offering and approving "quick and favourable loans for every situation" – cash loans, housing, mortgage, car loans, loans for refinancing and loans for pensioners. The NBS appeals to all citizens not to borrow money from this company under any circumstances, as it does not have an operating licence issued by the NBS, nor does the NBS supervise its work.

The NBS supervises the operations of banks and other financial institutions to which it has issued a licence to operate, but it is not authorised to supervise the operations of entities that do not have such a licence. Borrowing from such companies entails a significant risk that citizens’ trust will be abused and that they will not be able to protect their rights and interests. In that case, the NBS cannot guarantee that the rights of citizens will be adequately protected, and therefore citizens will suffer the harmful consequences of the aforementioned abuses. That is why we strongly advise all citizens to be careful and to take loans only from institutions that are legally authorised to engage in that specific business, as well as to inform the Ministry of the Interior if they know of any person illegally engaging in lending as this constitutes a criminal offence. The list of banks operating in the Republic of Serbia is available on the NBS website.

The NBS will, as before, undertake all the necessary measures within its remit to protect the financial service consumers and ensure a safe and transparent financial environment, and will remain consistently committed to its task of protecting the interests of citizens and ensuring that all financial processes are transparent, safe and in accordance with the legal framework.
