Continuing the upward trend from the previous period, the number of users of m- and e-banking services increased further in Q3 2025. Specifically, at end-Q3 2025 there were 4,962,039 users (natural and legal persons) of m-banking services, up by 11.5% y-o-y, and 4,800,512 users of e-banking services, which is 11.2% more than at the end of Q3 of the previous year.
The increase in the number of users was also accompanied by the growth in the total number of payments executed using digital banking instruments, which reached 68.7 million transactions in Q3 2025 – an increase of 10.3% from the same quarter a year earlier. The number of payments made via m-banking rose by 26.2% (from 27.2 million to 34.3 million transactions), while the number of payments made via e-banking declined by 2% (from 35.1 million to 34.4 million transactions) relative to the same period the year before.
The growth in the use of m-banking is driven by the advantages offered by banking application functionalities, including the ability to use instant payments at points of sale through simple and reliable methods such as IPS Scan and IPS Show, the payment of due liabilities by scanning the NBS IPS QR code displayed on bills or invoices, as well as account-to-account money transfers via the Transfer (Prenesi) service.
