Financial Education Offices Start Operating

The National Bank of Serbia has established offices of financial education in its branches in Kragujevac, Novi Sad, Nis, Uzice and Belgrade. This initiative reflects the National Bank of Serbia’s commitment to providing clear and in-depth information on its activities and financial products offered in the domestic market. 
 
Financial education offices are equipped with computers that citizens may use not only for visiting the NBS website, but those of other financial institutions as well. In addition to educational materials prepared by the NBS, the offices will also provide expert assistance and advice regarding any uncertainties consumers might have with their personal finances.

This is an extension of NBS efforts to improve financial literacy of our citizens and to assist them in their home budgeting decisions. In September last year, the NBS opened a new web page www.tvojnovac.nbs.rs for the general public. This website features guide booklets on key life-turning events, such as "Starting university studies", "Leaving your parents’ home and starting a new life", "Starting a new job", "Setting up a family", etc. Using different tools and calculators consumers may also check the level of their debt, assess feasibility of refinancing their loans or calculate their monthly loan installments in the event of change in interest rates.
